Pass, Marking, Ball possession |
Make a rectangle of 40x20 meters right in front of the penalty area (yellow in figure 1), called "the finishing zone" and another one adjacent and of the same size (green in figure 1), called the possession zone. Place 5 players, 1 jolly and 2 players from each team in the rectangle that is the closest to the goal. The other 13 players go to the rectangle that is outside the area, divided into two teams of 5 players plus 3 neutral players.
- In the possession area one team starts with the ball and with the help of a neutral player must try to keep possession and reach 5 consecutive passes
- Players without ball in the possession zone must try to recover it and execute 5 consecutive passes
- After 5 passes, players can pass the ball to the teammates from the finishing zone; they with the help of a neutral player must try to end the action
- The fifth pass can be executed towards teammates from the other rectangle
- If players without ball in the finishing area recover the ball, they pass it to the teammates from the possession zone with the help of a neutral player and the keeper
- In order to help players understand the game, the team without ball can defend passively
- This exercise stimulates aerobic power
- The number of players in the possession zone can decrease when it is applied to younger players
