Summary | Secondary Objectives |
---|---|
Exercise to train passing, oriented ball control and shooting at goal with a 1 v 1 situation |
Turn upside down, Oriented control, Feints and tricks, Pass, Finishing, Goal defense |
- At the coach's signal, player A (the first in the line positioned on the yellow marker), passes the ball toward the mini-goal, while player B comes up to receive the pass before the ball goes through it
- In receiving the ball, player B performs a goal-oriented control (position B1) to go and finish as quickly as possible; at the same time, defender C performs a forward roll-over and goes to pressure player B to prevent them from finishing. A 1 v 1 situation (white forward vs purple defender) is played
- If player B gets past defender C, they can shoot at goal
- If defender C stops player B, the action ends
- At the end of the action, the three players switch starting positions (A takes for the place of B, B takes the place of defender C, and C retrieves the ball and takes the place of A)
- Define at the start an oriented receiving to be made on teammate's pass (inside foot, outside foot, etc.).
- Also perform the drill from the opposite side (left side of the field)
- Add a mini-goal in the center, 27 yards from the goal toward the middle of the field, so that defender C, when recovering the ball, can shoot there
- Player A, who has passed the ball to B, can participate in the attacking action for the conclusion on goal in aid of the teammate, playing a numerical superiority situation in the attackers' favor of 2 v 1
- Instead of having defenders perform a forward roll, have them perform a speed ladder at full speed
- Have players perform mobility drills while waiting for their turn to avoid wasting downtime
- Pay close attention to C's body posture when tackling the opposing forward during the 1 v 1
- Stimulate B to finish the action as quickly as possible
- During the 1 v 1 it is recommended for the forward to vary the way to free themselves for finishing (feints, dribbling, motor imagination, improvisation)
