Visual perception, Quickness, Cognitive quickness, Shooting, Competitiveness |
At 5 meters from the penalty area, matching the goal posts, create two 5x5-meter/yard squares using four differently colored markers for each square. The position of the colored markers must be mirrored between the two squares (as in the picture). Divide the players into two groups, placing them at each square. One player per team, A and B, within their respective squares. The coach stands between the two squares, with a good supply of balls. Place a ball in the center of the edge of the penalty area.
- The coach indicates a sequence of markers that the players must sprint to
- The players, competing, must carry out the indicated sequence and then reach the ball before their opponent and kick it into the goal
- After each finalization, the coach places a new ball in the center of the penalty area limit
Example
- The coach indicates the sequence "blue, yellow and red"
- The players, A and B, sprint toward the blue marker
- They perform a change in direction and sprint toward the yellow marker
- They change direction again to sprint toward the red marker
- When the sequence is finished, they sprint toward the ball trying to anticipate the opponent's shot
- Players must touch with their hands the indicated marker
- Shooting to goal must be done one touch
- Take to 2 the sequence of markers to touch
- Take to 4 the sequence of markers to touch
- Increase the size of the squares
- Useful exercise to develop cognitive capabilities
- Encourage competition between teams
- Pay attention to players coordination
