Small-sided Game 6 v 6 on a small field to train ball possession, finishing and situations of numerical superiority |
Losing your marker, Pass, Support, Finishing, Creating width and depth, Ball possession |
- The drill involves a 6 v 6 theme game plus 6 jokers, who act as flank players positioned along the four sides of the playing field
- The team in possession of the ball, in order to get to the goal more easily, can use the jokers to create numerical superiority situations
- At the end of the series, the team that scores more goals than the other wins
- At the end of each series alternate the six neutral players with one of the teams within the field (rotation of teams)
- The joker can only move between two goals: the one to their right and the one to their left
- The exchange between players inside the field and the joker is valid only if the pass occurs inside the mini goal
- The joker has a maximum of two touches
- A goal on a direct pass by the joker is worth 2 points (example in the picture)
- When the ball leaves the field without passing through a mini goal, the joker puts the ball back in play by playing with the team that has possession
- Teams inside the pitch play attacking and defending all of the goals. The action always starts from the goalkeeper
- Useful drill to train unmarking by finding the necessary passing lines
- Encourage the team in possession of the ball to seek the help of the neutral players to develop situations of numerical superiority
- Incite the team to carry out ball possession at a high tempo
- During the drill, verbal communication between teammates is important, both in the ball possession phase and in the non-possession phase
