Create a square of 11x11 yards and in the middle of it create a small 2-yard square using four markers. From each vertex of the small square draw a line to the corresponding vertex of the bigger square in order to obtain four areas (trapezoids). In the middle of each side of the bigger square place a goal. Inside each trapezoid place a defender. Inside the central square place a forward with some balls.
- At the coach's signal, the forward goes through a selected zone with the aim of scoring a goal after overcoming the defender
- If the forward scores a goal, they go back inside of the small square to take another ball and try to shoot at any other goal with the same objectives
- If the defender recovers the ball, the action is over and the two players have to swap roles
- The forward should always be careful in choosing different zones to attack (the coach can add a rule that states that defenders should raise their hand if they've not been called upon)
- Inside the small square there should be a good number of soccer balls to avoid down time
- Add three more forwards (total: Four defenders and four forwards) to create four 1 v 1 situations
- The one who attacks:
- On the 1 v 1 situation the ball must be driven with speed to make it hard for the defender to duel
- Players must have an offensive mentality, driving the ball with speed, simulating changes in direction and feints
- Find the weak foot of the opponent
- Always keep the ball under control, trying to have it under the knees
- Protect the ball from the defender using the body
- The one who defends:
- Place yourself between your opponent, the ball and the middle of the goal, reducing the marking distances as you get closer to the dangerous area
- Make your rival go to the outermost areas of the pitch
- Find the weak foot of your rival in order to condition their movements
- Try to slow down the action of your opponent, favoring the defensive recovery of your teammates
- Choose the right contrast moment to get back the ball
- Keep a good posture to react quickly to to the attacker
