How to improve passing technique in soccer players by combining intensity and precision |
Opening up oriented control, Support, Triangle, Losing your marker |
Create a mini goal about 2 meters/yards wide with two markers. Inside the mini goal place the group and player A starts from here with the ball. In front of the goal, about 10 meters/11 yds away, place a marker where player B is positioned. At 10 meters/11 yds from it place two more markers 10 meters/11 yds apart where players C and D are placed, respectively.
- Player B, who starts behind the marker, spreads out to create a passing line for the teammate
- Player A passes the ball to teammate B
- Player B performs oriented ball control; at the same time teammate C breaks away from their marker by running backwards
- Player B passes the ball on teammate C's movement
- Player C makes a one-touch supporting pass to teammate B who comes towards them
- Player B closes the triangle by returning the ball with one touch on the movement of C who snaps outside the marker
- Player C makes a one-touch pass into the small goal for teammate E
Player E repeats the sequence of passes together with player A and D. The exercise is repeated in the same way for the entire duration of the two sets.
- Rotation of players during the passing sequence:
- A, after passing to B, moves to B's place
- B, after the triangle with C, stops in C's place
- C, after passing through the goal, goes to the back of the group
- Players must remain in constant motion to be ready to receive the pass
- Check the orientation of the body of the player positioned in the center of the course: it must be open to be able to see both the incoming pass and the teammate to whom the ball will be passed
- Incite players to pass the ball at high intensity at the expense, in the first instance, of precision
