Create a playing area of 15x30 meters using markers. In the middle of both short sides place a goal (choose the right goal size for the age group). Place a player on each corner of the pitch, each one with a ball. Inside the field place a forward (white player), a defender (red) and a neutral player (yellow). Keep a few balls next to the goals. The goalkeepers defend the goals.
- The game starts from the neutral player who calls a flank player by name and receives the ball; they have three ball touches max to pass the ball to the forward
- While the neutral player receives the ball, the forward has to lose their marker to receive the ball from the neutral player and shoot at goal. They can score on both goals
- The defender should stop the forward from finishing, marking them and avoid that they receive the ball
- The game continues until all four flank players have passed the ball
- At the end of these four actions, the forward and the defender swap roles with two external players
- The forward can score on both goals
- The neutral player has three ball touches max to pass the ball to the forward
- The action ends with a goal scored, a ball stopped or a save by the goalkeeper
- Rotate players (even the neutral player)
- Alternate players inside the pairs that perform the drill
- Play a 2 vs 2 instead of a 1 vs 1
- Pay attention to individual tactics (positioning, body posture, running technique, timing)
- Work on space-time orientation, anticipation, reaction
- Work on defensive concepts
- Encourage the forward to lose their marker using countermovements, feints and changes of direction
